Ernst Jenedal, born in 1930, began his musical education with Gunnar Axén, who in 1937 started Västerås Musikskola (Music School). As early as in 1945 Ernst began his music and teaching career with mandolin groups in Västerås.
Ernst Jenedal studied the violin and orchestral conducting at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and at the Vienna Conservatory. After this he played the first violin in Västerås Symfoniorkester (Symphony Orchestra) and studied music with the leader and conductor of Västerås Musiksällskap (Music Society) Arvids Noritis, from the music conservatory in Riga.
As a teacher at the music school Ernst has taught young people how to play the mandolin and violin both individually and in groups. The orchestras of Västerås Musikskola has during the years produced many professional musicians and successful amateur musicians.
